Farmer / Farm Manager

The WSU Mount Vernon Northwestern Washington Research and Extension Center (NWREC) is hiring a farmer who can drive tractor and other farm equipment. The position is available either on a temporary or permanent basis, depending on the skill set and career goals of the applicant. The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out farming activities at WSU Mount Vernon NWREC.


Temporary full-time qualifications: Ability to operator tractors and other farm equipment, and interest in being part of a farm research team. Must have, or able to obtain, a valid driver’s license by time of hire.

Permanent full-time qualifications: Experience in farming practices, and scheduling and assigning agricultural field research. Knowledge of farm equipment and machinery, and facility maintenance and repair work. High school graduation and four years of general work experience in building and equipment maintenance, construction or repair work or completion of a recognized apprenticeship in a skilled mechanic trade; OR equivalent education/experience. Must have, or able to obtain, a valid driver’s license by time of hire.
