September 2, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Pesticides and Honey Bees

Presented by Tim Lawrence. Pesticides and honey bees are both essential to ensure an adequate supply of affordable food crops. This presentation will cover: the history of pesticides and pollination services provided by honey bees; the evolution of pesticides and their impact on honey bees; issues and concerns related to neonicotinoid pesticides; and steps pesticide applicators and growers can take in mitigating the effects of pesticides on honey bees and other pollinators.

Seed Crop Pests: Biology and Management

Presented by Bev Gerdeman. Seed crops are prone to a host of challenging pests.  This presentation will cover subterranean collembola, symphylans, bulb mites and root maggots.  Why they are so challenging and strategies for their control.

You will need to register to receive a link to attend the seminar via Zoom.
