Extension
The research programs housed at NWREC share their findings with stakeholders through extension and outreach programs. NWREC also hosts or collaborates with other university Extension programs dedicated to sharing research-based information, techniques, and technologies with the people of Washington state. WSU Extension
With 39 locations throughout the state, WSU Extension is the front door to the University. Extension builds the capacity of individuals, organizations, businesses and communities, empowering them to find solutions for local issues and to improve their quality of life. Extension collaborates with communities to create a culture of life-long learning and is recognized for its accessible, learner-centered, relevant, high-quality, unbiased educational programs.
Skagit County Extension
Skagit County Extension is home to a variety of programs supporting those living and learning in Skagit County, including 4-H, Master Gardeners, Livestock Advisors, SNAP-Ed nutrition education, and more.
Extension Master Gardeners
The trained and certified volunteers of the Master Gardeners program assist Extension in providing information to home gardeners about sound and sustainable gardening practices. This includes integrated pest management, efficient watering technologies, recycling of garden wastes and cultural methods for preventing and treating plant disease.
