Madeline Desjardines, PhD student at NWREC and Future Leaders for Food & Agriculture Research Fellow, has placed third in the 2024 FFAR Lighting Talk Competition for her presentation on, “Super Poop: Closing the Loop for Soil Health”. The Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research Fellows represent over 35 universities across North America with diverse research interests in the fields of food science, agronomy, genomics, biosystems engineering, soil science, and more. The FFAR Fellows Lightening Talk Competition is an opportunity to practice science communication skills in a supportive environment that is shared out to the community where the public can vote for their favorites, and a committee of science professionals select the finalists.
