    Tim Miller

    Dr. Timothy Miller has been working as an extension weed scientist for Washington State University since 1997.  Tim earned his Ph.D. in plant science from the University of Idaho in 1995, and also holds a Master of Science (1987) and a Bachelor of Science in range management (1981).  His weed science program at WSU Mount Vernon includes weed control research in western Washington crops, as well as studying control of non-native vegetation on agricultural, range, and forest lands.  He has developed and presented hundreds of classes in weed identification and control at various programs in the Pacific Northwest since 1986.  Tim, his wife Linda, and their three children reside in Mount Vernon, Washington.


    Carl

    Carl Libbey, Agricultural Research Technologist II, began working at the "Experiment Station" the summer of 1980.  He received his B.S. degree in Horticulture from Washington State University in 1983.  He has been with the Weed Science program for the past 15 years.  Carl is responsible for carrying out all aspects of field research, including plot layout preparatons, statistical analysis, greenhouse studies, and weed identification.


    Callie Bolton was born in the small town of Stevenson, Alabama, and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee. Later she moved to Washington with her family but returned to Tennessee for undergraduate school, where she attended Tennessee Technological University and received a B.S. in Biology with a concentration in Botany. She is now attending WSU working towards a Masters degree in Crops and Soils Sciences with Dr. Tim Miller and Dr. Carol Miles, and her research deals with organic methods for weed control in vineyards. She hopes to follow up with a PhD in Viticulture so she can fulfill her dream of managing her own vineyard and making wine. In her free time Callie enjoys knitting, as well as hiking the mountains and scavenging the beaches with her two huskies.


Yushan (Sherry) Duan was born in a small city North China. She was majored in turfgrass management and got her B.S. degrees from Northeast Agricultural University in Harbin and Michigan State University. Now she is working with Dr. Tim Miller on raspberry caneburning trials. She is interested in weed science and small fruits. Her hobbies include movies and computer games.
