      Dr. Timothy Miller has been working as an extension weed scientist for Washington State University since 1997.  Tim earned his Ph.D. in plant science from the University of Idaho in 1995, and also holds a Master of Science (1987) and a Bachelor of Science in range management (1981).  His weed science program at WSU Mount Vernon includes weed control research in western Washington crops, as well as studying control of non-native vegetation on agricultural, range, and forest lands.  He has developed and presented hundreds of classes in weed identification and control at various programs in the Pacific Northwest since 1986.  Tim, his wife Linda, and their three children reside in Mount Vernon, Washington.



       

      Carl Libbey, Agricultural Research Technologist II, began working at the "Experiment Station" the summer of 1980.  He received his B.S. degree in Horticulture from Washington State University in 1983.  He has been with the Weed Science program for the past 15 years.  Carl is responsible for carrying out all aspects of field research, including plot layout preparatons, statistical analysis, greenhouse studies, and weed identification.

      Brian Maupin, Agricultural Research Technologist I, grew up in the Mount Vernon area and worked on local farms all through high school.  He attended Washington State University in Pullman, receiving a B.S. in Integrated Pest Management and minoring in Horticulture.  After graduating he was employed for two years at WSU Long Beach Research and Extension Unit where he participated in a variety of cranberry pest management projects.  Brian began work at WSU Mount Vernon in January 2001, and is responsible for conducting IR-4 trials and assists with weed control experiments.
